Блейк Пирс обожает писать сериями, и это чувствуется в любом из его романов. Серий у него не меньше семи, но вряд ли вам захочется перечитать все его книги. Парочка первых романов заходит с некоторым удовольствием поначалу, но звоночки раздражения прозвенят уже в них.
«Выжидая» – второй роман из серии «Становление Райли Пейдж». Добротный детективчик с очередным маньяком. Стопроцентно развлекательное чтиво: с одной стороны, написано так, что «глотается» на одном дыхании, с другой – очень уж шаблонно, и это чувствуется в каждой строке. Во время чтения не покидает чувство, что автор посетил писательские курсы на тему «Правила написания детективов» и добросовестно применил все полученные знания при создании данного опуса.
Главная героиня раздражает тем, что ведет себя спонтанно (чтоб не сказать – тупо) и очень рискует, но при этом мы знаем, что все чудом закончится хорошо (и так много раз…). И парень у нее с гнильцой и совсем не то, что ей нужно (то есть читатель видит это, а ГГ-ня – нет), но отношения парочки автору надо растянуть на несколько романов, иначе не о чем будет писать.
В общем, если решитесь продолжать чтение серии, ваша оценка каждого очередного романа с «очень даже ничего» будет снижаться вплоть до нуля.
Серийный убийца наряжает жертв в костюмы клоунов. Райли делает первые шаги как агент ФБР. Коллеги смеются над ее версией происходящего. Но Райли верна себе и твердо стоит на своем. Она смела и решительна. Нежалеет себя. Книга о доверии себе и своей интуиции. Образ маньяка раскрыт слабо -он как бедный призрачный Йорик жил в закулисье и в полной изоляции. Интересный сюжет, прекрасная атмосфера хорошего детектив.
