Vahan Teryan – poet and public figure

In 1960, K.A. Hakobyan was awarded the honorary title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, he was awarded the Orders of Lenin, the Badge of Honor, medals For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin, a Large silver and three bronze medals of the VDNH.

Since 1957, Mamikon Stepanovich Hakobyan has lived and worked in Orenburg. He received an excellent education for his time: in 1937-1939 – the military aviation technical school, during the war years – the military aviation school for initial training of pilots and the military aviation school for Air Force pilots. M.S. Hakobyan was in military service for 27 years. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. From July 1944 to May 9, 1945 as part of the 995 Assault Aviation Regiment, the senior pilot of the assault aviation participated in combat operations in Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Austria, Hungary, in the liberation of Belgrade, Budapest and Vienna.

After the war, M.S. Hakobyan continued his studies: he graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan University, as well as the correspondence faculty of the Military Institute of Foreign Languages, acquired the specialty of an English translator. From 1957 to 1962 he taught at the Orenburg Flight School, worked at the Orenburg State Pedagogical University. In 1980-1991, he was the head of the Department of Universal History. In 1974, he defended his PhD thesis at the Institute of General History of the USSR Academy of Sciences. For many years of pedagogical work, he was awarded the badges "Excellent Student of National Education of the RSFSR", "Excellent Student of National Education of the USSR" and a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of Higher Education and Scientific Institutions of the RSFSR.
